Finding Alternatives and Using Less Shortage Risk Chemicals in Water Treatment
Abstract
This project investigated the long term strategic risk from chemical shortages, and options for replacing chemicals identified as having a shortage/escalating cost with alternative chemicals. It identifies potential new treatment options that have reduced/alternative chemical treatment requirements and lower energy and carbon emissions. The project also found recycling/recovery processes that will reduce chemical usage and costs. Research Partner: UKWIR. Published in 2015.
