Abstract

The primary objective of this research study was to subject non-dispersible wipes from five different manufacturers to a variety of tests to determine if changes to their physical characteristics occur when introduced into a sewer system and what effect the shredded material (pulp) has on the downstream sewer and their interactions with other materials within the sewer system. Shredded and non-shredded wipes were used in the study utilizing specialized bench-scale testing and live sewer testing. Published by WERF. 148 pages. Online PDF. (2015)
